TYPES OF LASH EXTENSIONS AVAILABLE
Classic lash extensions provide a defined, mascara type look and are perfect for those experiencing lash extensions for the first time. Volume lash extensions are about applying a more voluminous look than Classic lashes and there is less emphasis on length. The look is soft, fluffy and full lashes which is achieved by applying between 3 and 5 very fine extensions per natural lash. Volume lashes are perfect for those clients not blessed with a full lash line, as they will gain lots of extra lashes! (ie. if you have 50 natural lashes, you could end up with between 150 and 250 lashes with volume lashes applied!)
PRODUCTS USED
I use both Faux Mink and Faux Silk lash extensions from only premium lash brands and all are hand made in Korea (the birthplace of eyelash extensions). The brands of lashes I have chosen to use are some of the best available in the world with a wide range of curls, lengths and thicknesses to suit all clients plus ensuring they all have excellent curl retention.
I will never stock or apply real Mink lash extensions due to the incredible cruelty these animals endure in the process of retrieving their fur. Faux mink extensions are actually superior to real mink as when real mink is wet, it can become droopy and lose shape and curl but this will not happen with faux mink lashes.
Faux mink feel very soft and silky and are very fine. They are man-made, poly fibre extensions and produced to imitate the softness of real mink and are more tapered (how fine the lash extensions are shaped at the tip) than a faux silk lash extension.
Faux silk are also soft and made from poly fibre, but have less tapering than a faux mink extension.
The adhesive I use is the most popular and top selling formula in Korea. It has an extremely low fume/irritation index which is why very few clients experience any stinging sensation or redness after their lash application.
WHY I ONLY REFILL MY OWN WORK
I am often asked to refill other lash technician’s work…either because the client would like to swap lash technicians, they cannot get an appointment with their existing lash technician (so they try somewhere else) or they have received a poor lash experience elsewhere and would like me to help. I’m always happy to help…but…it can be extremely challenging refilling another lash technician’s work. Unfortunately, often less than satisfactory work has been completed (excess adhesive used, lash extensions applied have been too thick or long, poor styling whereby only one lash length has been applied across the entire set, lashes have not been isolated correctly and several lashes are joined together etc.) I therefore am not in control of the final outcome. If you find yourself in this situation, please feel free to contact me to discuss, but more often than not, you will be advised to wait for your existing extensions to naturally shed, or I can remove them and apply a new set for you.
WHY GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Many people love eyelash extensions not only for the benefits of having longer, darker and fuller lashes, but also because of the convenience of not having to spend time each day applying mascara and other eye makeup.
EYELASH HEALTH
My clients lash health is my number one priority when providing lash services. I will only choose lash thicknesses, and lengths which your natural lashes can safely hold without causing any damage. During your consultation, we will discuss what type of look you would like to achieve (bringing photos of examples that you like can be useful) and I will also make an assessment of your natural lashes to determine the safest options for you.
A lot of clients like the ‘cat eye’ lash style (longer lashes at the outer corners), however, unfortunately, most people have shorter lashes at the outer corners (especially side sleepers…as your lashes can rub off prematurely during sleep due to the friction caused by your pillow) and by placing longer extensions on these shorter lashes can cause both droopiness and lash extensions that twist or turn due to the heavy weight on your natural lash.
WHAT HAPPENS AT YOUR APPOINTMENT?
New Sets – Consultation conducted where we discuss both styling and the best options for your natural lashes. You will also need to read and sign a release form and you will also have an opportunity to discuss with me any questions or concerns you may have. You will then lie on the bed and once comfortable with a soft blanket, extra pillows etc, I will take some photos (it’s always fun to compare before and after lash extension photos!) I will then place eye pads under your bottom lashes, and then I will place a couple of pieces of micropore tape to cover your bottom lashes. Once this is completed, I will start applying extensions…and you can lie back and relax. Depending on which set you have chosen, and how many natural lashes you have, the entire process can take from between 75 minutes to 150 minutes.
Refills – Once the eye pads and micropore tape is in place, I remove any grown out extensions and replace the lost extensions with new lashes. This process takes anywhere between 45-90 minutes.
Removals - Eye pads will be placed to cover your bottom lashes, then a cream based remover will be applied to your eyelash extensions. After approximately 10-15 minutes, the lash extensions will gently be removed.
